Working with US based suppliers and manufacturing has become an integral part of our design process. The Fork hanger is an excellent example of pushing the limitations of the suppliers. After calling and visiting several water jet and laser cutting suppliers we were finally able to work with one who would take the time to work with us creating the extremely precise cut needed. Most suppliers want to toss a sheet of material on the cut bed and continue on with their production process. The Fork hanger requires fine tuned adjustments to the location of the cut as well as the aggregate, speed, and pressure of the water cut. To achieve all of this over the length of an 18 inch cut on 0.25 inch diameter steel rod is quite an achievement.
